Aircon Timer Installation, Commercial Power Outlets, Commercial Wiring

In April 2026, we were engaged by Mr Tony Teo, a valued repeat customer, to improve both the functionality and safety of the electrical installation at his commercial office in Ubi Point, Singapore. Having previously engaged our services, Mr Tony trusted our team to recommend practical solutions tailored to his operational requirements. The scope covered three workstreams: installation of a manual air-conditioner timer, provision of dedicated commercial power outlets including a 16A CEEFORM industrial socket, and reconfiguration of the distribution board to accommodate the additional circuits. As a licensed electrical contractor, we approached the engagement with a focus on safety, compliance with Singapore electrical standards, and minimising disruption to day-to-day operations.

The Challenge

Problem

Although the existing installation was not in a state of failure, several operational inconveniences had accumulated over time as Mr Tony's usage requirements evolved. The first concern was the lack of control over the air-conditioning system. Without a timer, the unit could easily be left running after operating hours, resulting in unnecessary electricity consumption and higher utility costs. Operation depended heavily on manual intervention, making it easy for the system to be forgotten at the end of the working day.

The second concern was the need for a dedicated 16A CEEFORM industrial socket for equipment that drew a higher current than a standard 13A socket could safely supply. Relying on temporary adaptors or unsuitable power outlets introduced the risk of overheating, nuisance tripping, and equipment damage - all avoidable hazards in a commercial environment.

The third concern was the insufficient number of general-purpose power outlets for daily operations. Equipment had to rely on extension cords and power adaptors, creating cable clutter and reducing workplace safety. Mr Tony wanted a cleaner, more permanent electrical solution.

Finally, our electricians needed to verify that the existing distribution board could safely accommodate the additional circuits without exceeding its rated capacity or compromising circuit protection.

Solution

We began with a thorough on-site assessment, inspecting the existing electrical installation, discussing Mr Tony's operational needs, and evaluating the loading requirements for each circuit. We examined the distribution board to confirm it could be safely extended. From there, our electricians proposed and carried out the following electrical improvement works:

  • Aircon timer installation - a manual air-conditioner timer was installed to allow users to preset the operating duration of the air-conditioning system. This prevents unnecessary operation after working hours and supports better energy management without requiring major modifications to the existing air-conditioning system.
  • Dedicated 16A CEEFORM industrial socket - installed using the appropriate cable size, protective devices, and electrical accessories, providing a safe and reliable power source specifically designed for higher-current equipment and eliminating the need for unsuitable adaptors or temporary connections.
  • New double 13A power point - installed at a convenient location based on the client's operational needs, reducing dependence on extension cords, improving accessibility, and creating a neater working environment.
  • Distribution board upgrade and reconfiguration - the DB was upgraded and reconfigured to accommodate the additional circuits. Proper circuit protection and load distribution were verified to ensure the installation remained safe, reliable, and compliant with Singapore electrical regulations.

Key Results and Outcomes

The electrical improvement works were completed successfully, modernising the installation across all three workstreams while ensuring full compliance with Singapore electrical standards. Mr Tony now has a safer, more efficient, and more convenient electrical setup that matches his current operational requirements.

Key Results:

  • Manual AC timer installed, enabling scheduled operation and reducing unnecessary electricity consumption after hours
  • Dedicated 16A CEEFORM industrial socket safely installed, removing the need for temporary adaptors and the associated overheating and tripping risks
  • Additional double 13A power point eliminated cable clutter and reduced reliance on extension cords
  • Distribution board upgraded and reconfigured with verified circuit protection and balanced load distribution

Conclusion

This engagement reflects our commitment to helping commercial clients in Singapore get more from their existing electrical installations through practical, standards-compliant upgrades. By combining a thorough site assessment with quality workmanship, we delivered a solution that improves convenience, safety, and operational efficiency for Mr Tony's office at Ubi Point - building on the trust established through his earlier engagement with us. Whether the requirement is a single aircon timer, a dedicated industrial socket, or a full distribution board reconfiguration, our team of licensed electrical contractors continues to provide reliable electrical services for commercial premises throughout Singapore.

A cordial service and assuring always.👍👍👍 …
